In the Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy writes, "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)." With deep gratitude I submit the following proof of the healing Christ that is here with us today.
One night in the spring of 1992 I woke to get up and found that I could not move any part of my body without great pain. With the patient and loving help of my husband—both of us praying aloud—inch by inch I was able to get out of bed. The words that first came to me were from Isaiah: "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
Restrictions on body movement increased over the next day and night, but during this time of almost constant prayer I felt the warmth and love of God my Father, and that promise of His "I will help thee." At this point I was led to call for the prayerful help of a Christian Science practitioner.
