About two years ago, I went to visit with my children in Florida. When I got off the plane and walked over to the baggage claim to pick up my luggage, I felt extreme pain in my back, arms, and legs. I was unable to lift my luggage. My family members, who met me at the airport, were quite concerned about my pain and distress.
I called a Christian Science practitioner to assist me in prayer. By the third day, however, my children, who are not Christian Scientists, were very fearful. They knew I did not want medical treatment, but lovingly and somewhat pleadingly asked me to get a medical diagnosis to put their thought at peace. I felt it would arrest their fear if I consented to obtain a diagnosis. I trusted God to give me the spiritual ability to heal this challenge.
After an examination at a local hospital, the children's thought was quieter. I never wanted to know the name of the claim, although my body seemed to be paralyzed at the time. As I left the hospital, some hours later, I told my children that I wanted to be cared for at a Christian Science nursing facility while the healing took place. My daughter-in-law discovered that there was a new one in central Florida. I was taken there, and mentally kissed the ground when I arrived.
