One day while our son was playing on a trampoline, he fell on his neck. My husband and I rushed to him, and both of us reached out to God for the healing thoughts that we needed.
We were concerned because this was a neck injury, and because he was in pain and starting to lose consciousness. As we comforted him, I remembered having read of a situation in which a Christian Science practitioner was praying for someone who was passing on; the practitioner had instantly repeated aloud the statement "God is your Life." I told my son to repeat this, but he told me "No." I continued to insist that he repeat the words "God is my Life." After several minutes, he finally repeated the statement.
At this point he started to recover. We took him into the house and continued to pray for him, knowing that God would never let one of His children out of His care, and that this fact precluded any accident. Science and Health states, "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony" (p. 424). In no time our son was up and about, able to move perfectly normally with no further difficulty.
