While serving on a joint branch church broadcast committee, I asked the committee members if any of the other Christian Science churches in our area were having problems receiving the Sunday morning Sentinel broadcasts. All were receiving a clear broadcast with no static, but members of our branch were not; we turned our radios every which way, and none of us could hear the program without background noise. During one of the broadcast committee meetings, the committee decided we should ask all our members to make an extra effort to pray that our programs would be well received by spiritually hungry hearts in the community. Our branch church members prayed specifically that those in our community would be receptive to the upcoming radio lecture that we were sponsoring. The following Sunday, when I turned on my radio to hear the lecture, the reception was loud and clear. At the following Wednesday evening service, I gave a testimony expressing gratitude for the church members' prayers. After the service, the members came up to tell me they, too, clearly heard the broadcast. And since then, the Sentinel programs have been coming in without interference every Sunday.
Prayer provides clear reception for Christian Science lecture and Christian Science Sentinel broadcasts
