I wish to express my great gratitude for the Concordances to Mrs. Eddy's writings. They were a wonderful resource for me as I prayed for healing in Christian Science a few years ago. In March of 1988, I had received an invitation to visit a friend some distance away. A few days before I was to leave, however, I developed some discomfort in my teeth and gums, along with discoloration and swelling. In my excitement regarding the upcoming trip, I did not take the time to pray about the situation, thinking only that it would be temporary and would heal by itself.
By the time I arrived at my friend's, I was finding it difficult to chew. Although the individual I was staying with was a Christian Scientist, I did not feel comfortable asking for prayerful help at that time. By the time I arrived home, the symptoms were very alarming and I was unable to eat solid foods.
I made an emergency appointment with a dentist, who recommended immediate surgery by an orthodontist. I left his office, but on the way to my car, I decided not to see the orthodontist. Instead, I chose to call a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me.
