Testimonies of Healing

Translated from German

For many Christians, baptism...

From the January 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

For many Christians, baptism is a ceremonial act celebrating admission to the Christian community. It can also signify that one has turned from a former way of life to follow Christ Jesus' teachings. And baptism, as I have now come to understand it, has much more to do with one's attitude toward God than I ever suspected at first.

When my three-year-old daughter woke one evening, crying, I saw that there were red spots on her body that she was scratching very hard. I took her in my arms and tried to comfort her. But she didn't calm down and instead insisted that I wash the spots off. I told her that this wasn't necessary or possible, but assured her that God had always helped us before and would help us this time as well. But she only cried harder.

My daughter slept through to the
morning, and there was no sign
of spots anymore.
