Psalm of gratitude

From the May 1998 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I say unto You, "Thanks, God."
I proclaim Your goodness, I sing praises for Your wise direction.
Many times I have been lost, often I have wandered willfully;
Guidance You sent, pathways You revealed, helpers You provided.

As a directionless balloon, I drifted upon winds of terror;
Like a fragile paper cup, I was tossed upon crashing seas of anguish.
But You, Lord, carried me with currents of love to familiar landings—
You, Lord, washed me to shore with waves of comfort that held me,
Deposited me safe within the serene cove of Truth.

I'm inseparable from Your wise and loving mentoring.
Appreciation fills my heart with healing light;
With "all my being" I kneel in gratitude
To say unto You, "Thanks, God."
