To learn about healing

From the November 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

When I Walked into a Christian Science Sunday School class for the first time, it was a wonderful, spiritually refreshing experience. Within a year my regular attendance led to considerable healing, which has been permanent. (More about that later.) I was introduced to Science and Health, written by Mary Baker Eddy, and that made all the difference! It helped me to understand the Bible better, especially the accounts of healing. And I gained a better grasp of what was behind the many Biblical incidents of protection and provision. I saw that there is a divine law of healing that is effective for all time.

To me, Sunday School should inspire participants to think as Christ Jesus did. One of the tenets of Christian Science is, "And we solemnly promise to watch, and pray for that Mind to be in us which was also in Christ Jesus; to do unto others as we would have them do unto us; and to be merciful, just, and pure." Science and Health, p 497.

The more Christlike our viewpoint—the more our thought is centered on God—the more dominion we have over matter with its ills.
