Testimonies of Healing

Useless wrist restored

From the November 1999 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Late one afternoon I was walking in the neighborhood when my shoe heel caught in the pavement. I tripped and fell quite hard. I landed on my hand, wrist, and face. I immediately denied the reality of the accident and thanked God that I was whole and not broken. I returned to my home to pray, but I was unable to overcome the pain.

I called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for me. He spoke to me of the unreality of accidents, and helped me to understand that the accident had never occurred. And he also spoke of God's love for me which could not be lost. All that night I prayed, thinking about synonyms for God such as Love and Spirit and how they are expressed in the universe.

By the third day the swelling, discoloration, and pain were disappearing. However, my wrist still had no strength. When I spoke with the practitioner of this, he quietly explained to me that God's hands held everything in the universe. This statement was just what I needed to know. My entire body relaxed. At the same time I felt an adjustment in the wrist bone. The following day I was able to use the arm.
