Where Adversity appears so very real, God's love is actually the only ruling presence. Why? Because God fills all space, and He is the only God— eternal, omnipotent, divine Love. Therefore, this divine, loving presence has to be where we all are, right now and forever.
Maybe in a struggle with illness we've found it difficult to stand faithfully in the conviction of God's infinite, loving care. Fear may have deluded us into believing we are having a mighty battle with a very real enemy. But we can find freedom from fear, and therefore from the illness itself, by understanding the absolute unreality of fear, which underlies illness. Yet how can fear be unreal when it appears so real to us? Spiritually scientific reasoning shows us how.
Divine Love and fear are opposites. Love could never be the cause of fear. Nor could Love, which is infinite, allow fear any space: the omnipresence of Love precludes the existence of fear. Our conclusion, then, must be that Love is an infinite reality, all-inclusive, ever present, and that fear has no presence, is nowhere, is unreal. Knowing that fear is a nonentity, we can firmly contend that Love is in complete and absolute control of our lives. Under no circumstance need we give fear any credibility.
