A COMMEMORATION
Celebrating 125 years of exploring practical spirituality
The ideas in Science and Health have a proven history of healing. In 1888, Mary Hinds Philbrick, a Christian Science practitioner, wrote to Mrs. Eddy, reporting the joy of those she encountered in her practice who had been healed of every kind of disease through the ideas in Science and Health.
Mary Baker Eddy responded in a letter to her, "I hope you are introducing the book [Science and Health] to all you meet—that Book is doing more good than aught else can do."
Mrs. Eddy loved to hear stories of healing—she always maintained that the truths of her book could heal and regenerate. The testimonies that poured in over the years gave proof that what she wrote in Scienceand Health was not only inspirational, but practical. In a letter to P. D. Hoyt in 1883, Mary Baker Eddy declared, "I am almost daily in receipt of letters saying your book has healed me[.]"
