Intuitions from God

From the December 2000 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Having Just dropped my children off at school, I was on my way to an appointment. The idea came, as I drove past our subdivision, to go back home and change my shoes!

"How odd," I thought, looking down at my shoes and wondering what was wrong with the ones on my feet. However, the voice came again very strongly, and I knew it was a message from God. So I thought, "OK, Father; You know far better than I." I have learned the importance of listening to spiritual intuitions. Science and Health says, "The intercommunication is always from God to His idea, man." Science and Health, p. 284. I knew I needed to follow the direction.

When I entered my home, I noticed that the hall light going to our children's bedrooms was on. It seemed strange that we hadn't noticed the light when we had left earlier that morning. As I went over to turn it out, there at our daughter's doorway was a garden spade. I couldn't imagine that my daughter would have left such a thing in the middle of the floor. But not spending too much thought on that, I picked it up and placed it on her dresser. As I turned to leave, I glanced into our son's room. Things looked in order, except for the T-shirt he must have flung over his telescope. As I went over to the other side of the bed to retrieve the shirt, I found a young man huddled on the floor!
