Five summers ago, I took on a home project requiring two tons of concrete to form a flume. I decided to buy 50 bags (4,000 pounds) of concrete and do the project myself. No delivery truck could get to the area, so I had to carry each bag some 60 feet to the site, step up two steps, and mix and pour the cement into the form.
I accomplished this successfully, but the next morning I couldn't walk! My knees were in so much pain, I couldn't move my legs. Overwhelming fear consumed me when I realized I couldn't support the weight of my body.
Just then a friend phoned. This friend calls about three times a week to talk "car talk." He's an extremely successful physician. We often have excellent conversations about Christian Science, too. This time, though, he quickly sensed my discomfort and asked lots of questions. He offered a lot of advice, including recommending surgery for the probable knee damage. I kindly told him that I would rely on Christian Science for healing.
