At this time of year our thoughts turn gratefully to the promise of renewal and indestructible life shown so conclusively in Jesus' resurrection. And we're reminded of the opportunities that each day brings for our own progressive resurrection from materialism, from all that would try to bury the pure and good in human thought.
Children, and all of us, have a right to this purity, to the innocence of true childlikeness, and to the freedom and safety that accompany these elements of thought. This is part of our heritage as God's offspring. And because it is, worldliness doesn't have the authority to bury it.
Our Commentary and Review feature this month points to the need for prayer in helping to protect young people from harmful media images that would assault their purity. And it offers some other practical steps to support them in this way. The cover article, "The voice within that keeps children safe," shares some specific ideas about the nature of effective prayer for children, and includes examples of healing and protection. "Nurture children through seeing what the Father does" provides insights into parenting from a spiritual basis.
