A Presbyterian pastor reflects on Christian Science healing

The is an ordained Presbyterian clergyman and a reader of Science and Health. Formerly the administrator of the Pomona-Inland Valley Council of Churches, he has also worked as dean of the Office of Black Student Affairs at the Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California. As part of his continuing education program, Rev. Ricky Porter is currently earning a Certificate in Executive Leadership at the Peter F. Drucker School of Management at the Claremont Graduate University. He is also writing a book about spiritual healing.

Earlier this year, associate editor of the Journal, interviewed Rev. Ricky Porter at a meeting for employees of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston. Occasional meetings like this one help employees stay abreast of current issues and trends among spiritual seekers.
