"A toolbox for better grades" ran in The Christian Science Monitor last March. We thought you might enjoy reading this letter, which the Monitor got from someone who read it there.

'I'm better and smarter than I give myself credit for'

From the September 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Thank you for your article "A toolbox for better grades." This article really influenced my life. The author talks about the tools that students possess to get good grades and how each student already has these tools. Students just need to take the time to figure this out. These tools that everyone has are good thoughts and abilities from God. This made me think about how much of an impact God can have on my life if I just let Him.

During high school I never got very good grades. I always thought of myself as being a stupid person. I'm in college now and my grades are better, but I still don't look at myself as a very smart person. This article really helped me to look at myself in a different way. It helped me to realize that there are so many tools that I have from God that I need to start taking advantage of. Some of these are humor, persistence, love, and humility. One sentence in this article that really helped me and showed me that I'm better and smarter than I give myself credit for is—"These tools tell you over and over again: You're good and you know it."

I know that God is always there to help me whenever I need Him and for any students out there who are willing to let Him help. All we need to do is discover these tools that God has planted in us.
