Over 1500 people from far and wide have swept into a Manhattan hotel in the thick of the theater district for a weekend conference. But they're not here for the bright lights of Broadway. They're here for a different kind of light, an inner light. The kind that lights up what one conference speaker describes as "the big picture."
Conference organizer Elizabeth Lesser introduced a keynote speaker, Columbia University professor of physics and mathematics Brian Greene, by reminding everyone of George Carlin's quip "Just when I found out the meaning of life, they changed it." It was a humorous lens for viewing the challenge that faces not only religion but also science in the search for truth.
