FROM THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

New appointment

From the September 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We are Pleased to announce the election of Mary Weldon Ridgway, C.S.B., of Dallas, Texas, to serve as a member of The Christian Science Board of Directors and Clerk of The Mother Church beginning July 1, 2001.

She takes the place of Olga M. Chaffee, C.S.B., who, after 11 years of service as a Director and nine years as Clerk, has decided to retire from the Board to give fuller attention to her primary work, that of Christian Science practitioner and teacher.

Mrs. Ridgway is a familiar presence here in Boston, having served as Second Reader for The Mother Church from 1995 to 1998. She has been in the public practice of Christian Science healing since 1987 and a Christian Science teacher since 1991. She has also been a member of the Board of Lectureship, and she served briefly as chariman of the board. Her earlier career in music and music therapy gave her a special gift for lecturing on Christian Science to healthcare professionals. She has also served in the Office of the Publisher of The Writings of Mary Baker Eddy, both in Boston and in her home state of Texas.
