Vision improved

From the September 2001 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A few years ago, when I went in to get some new eyeglasses, the ophthalmologist told me that I had glaucoma. On a later visit, I was told that I also had the beginning of a cataract. At first, I used the drops he'd prescribed for the glaucoma, but after a few weeks, I decided I'd rather heal these problems by relying on Christian Science, so I stopped taking them.

After the exam, the doctor said, "You are in excellent shape." The eye pressure was normal.

I'd seen many examples of the power of prayer. Back in the '60s, my husband was flying a private plane, when it crashed. By the time I reached him at the hospital, the doctors told me that he wasn't going to survive. Immediately, I began to pray the truths I'd learned in Christian Science. I knew that each of us is really God's spiritual likeness. In God's presence, there are no accidents. And I affirmed that my husband was in God's hands. Within two weeks, he was out of the hospital and back home.
