I live close to the river Thames near London, and I love to take walks along the tow-path. It's always quiet and peaceful there, and I find it a good place to be tranquil and to think. One day, I was walking along and praying for someone who had a planter wart on the bottom of her foot. I'd been trying hard to base my prayer on the spiritual perfection of God and His creation, when all of a sudden I was struck by the stunning scene in front of me. The day was so very still that the overhanging trees were perfectly reflected in the river. The reflection was so perfect that I couldn't see where the trees ended and the water began.
At that moment I felt that God was giving me an answer to my prayer, and it was being illustrated for me in the river. The men and women of God's creating are the reflection, or spiritual ideas, of God. The perfection of God is reflected in the perfection of the creation.
As I continued to enjoy the scene before me, I could see it was all one, and this applied not just to the lovely river and trees, but to the inseparability of God and His idea. As God's reflection, my friend could only have the divine nature God had given her. There could be no separation from the original. This inspired thought was a powerful one, and the patient's foot was quickly healed.
