Student Teacher

From the October 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Twenty-year-old Kent Truog from Seattle, Washington, just finished Sunday School. He liked his last teacher because he "welcomed all questions and always challenged us to think on another level."

Now Mr. Truog is a teacher himself, interacting with 13-and 14-year-olds at Crystal Lake Camps in Pennsylvania this past summer. "The kids ask all sorts of questions, from 'Is there a God?' to 'What's the difference between friendship love and family love?' A lot of kids that age seem to have relationships and the human concept of love stuck in their minds. That's the big thing they seem to go through—relationships and temptations. I do my best to give them answers that they can grasp and think about. More than anything I just try to be honest and love them. I know what it's like to be a confused teenager. I was there just a few years ago."
