MARY BAKER EDDY'S ADVICE TO ALFRED FARLOW

From the December 2004 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A search on Afred Farlow's name in the database containing Mary Baker Eddy's previously unpublished writings yields over 700 documents. Farlow also wrote hundreds of letters and reports to Mrs. Eddy. She admired his calmness under fire, his plainspoken way of explaining Christian Science, and his perseverance. Below are some of the words of wisdom and advice that Mrs. Eddy gave him through her letters.

Take no steps from which you will have to retreat, make no public statements you will not be able to prove.

Never notice an abuse [of Christian Science]. else give it such a notice as will kill it. But count the cost to oneself always before going to war. L01608, August 1900 .
