Lost and Found

From the May 2009 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IN THE COURSE OF OUR daily lives we all face issues that require a quick resolution. I've learned in Christian Science that by turning in prayer to the scientific understanding of God as the divine Principle of all that exists, I can expect to receive divine direction in any situation. Here's just one modest example.

Every fall on our family farm, we offered our hands-on educational tour programs for thousands of preschool and early elementary students, including their teachers and parents. A key logistical issue for our staff was to make sure that all classes adhered to a timetable. We wanted to ensure that they would be able to participate in all the farm activities and still depart on schedule to arrive back at school in time for bus departures and parent pickups.

Throughout each morning, we would welcome nine classes on varying arrival and departure schedules. Students picked their own pumpkins and were introduced to all the farm animals. The highlight of the tour was a foot race across a pasture to the barn where students could bury their teacher in the hay.
