I was touring a puppet show with my husband in our neighboring country, New Zealand, two years ago. It was my dream job and I was incredibly grateful for the opportunity. But in the middle of the tour, I came down with the flu and random nosebleeds. With our busy touring schedule it was not possible to cancel the shows, nor did I want to. I knew from my many previous healings through Christian Science prayer that I would be healed of this as well. I felt that God had led me to this job opportunity, and would never want me to suffer or experience pain as part of it.
Though I had taken Christian Science class instruction, which taught me how to effectively pray with confidence, I had become rather fearful of the condition and that an unexpected nosebleed would interrupt my show. I felt I couldn't clearly pray for myself, so I called a Christian Science practitioner and she agreed to pray with me.
I don't recall exactly what she said to me, but I do know that it was something along the lines of God caring for me constantly and that I did not need to fear the future. This was exactly what I needed to hear because I had been enjoying this work so much and worried about not finding satisfying work once the tour was over. I didn't want all the good to end!
