It is generally held in the practice of Christian Science healing that a right understanding of man’s relationship to God, the application of specific spiritual truths to the circumstance at hand, and selfless love for God and man, heal all inharmonious conditions. And of course, this is true. But, as a lifelong student of this spiritual system of thought, I have discovered that it hasn’t always been conscious or specific prayer on my part, or the prayer of others for me, but simply the mighty hand of God that exalted and healed me.
One healing, which I believe to have been directly from the hand of God, was the healing of grief occasioned by the death of my older brother in World War II. My brother was a United States Marine—a dive-bomber pilot. The experience and the healing came about in the following way.
