I was going through the Christian Science Bible Lesson-Sermon in French with a voice coach around 10:30 one morning when I found I had to stop what I was doing to write down a thought that would not let me alone: “There is nothing outside of Mind.”
At around one o’clock that afternoon my phone rang. A friend was asking me for Christian Science help because he had caught his hand in a piece of agricultural machinery. The hand had been severely injured. He had gone to the hospital to have it sewn up, but they told him that he would probably lose the use of his hand.
He was a little surprised when I asked, “It happened at 10:30, did it not?” He said yes, and asked me how I knew. I told him about this message I had received. Obviously the timing of the message was concurrent with his need and was a confirmation to me of God’s loving care in this situation.
