It’s likely that a regular reader of the Journal also knows that Mary Baker Eddy established two other magazines, the Christian Science Sentinel and The Herald of Christian Science, as a family of periodicals designed to meet specific spiritual needs.
The Sentinel watches and defends the activity of the Christ by identifying trends in world thought and highlighting activities that foster Christlike qualities such as dignity, freedom, selflessness, humility, and brotherly love. Uncovering and exposing as powerless, negative and materialistic influences in the world, the Sentinel holds guard over the true expressions of the Christ, which bless everyone, even those who don’t recognize or believe in the Christ.
As in the days when the Sentinel was newly founded, its readers today are proving the effectiveness and continuity of the Christ Science, discovered by Mary Baker Eddy, by healing sickness, sin, relationship problems, financial distress, and many other challenges. There is no greater proof of Christian Science than the evidence of lives transformed, sin banished, disease healed, and peace and unity established.
