JSH-Online and social media

From the July 2013 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The way we communicate  with others continues to change. People today talk less and text more; there’s less “snail” mail and more e-mail; and geographically distant friends are connecting in online communities through social networks. These online communities provide new opportunities for us to love our neighbors in the way Jesus taught (see Matthew 22:37–39).

As its name implies, JSH-Online.com allows the magazines published by The Christian Science Publishing Society—The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Herald of Christian Science—to be shared online. One of its goals is to promote sharing with our neighbors, whether they’re online hundreds or thousands of miles away, or next door. Social networking websites such as Facebook and Twitter provide great avenues to share ideas digitally. Recommending or posting an article from JSH-Online can provide a much needed beacon of light to someone’s social “news feed.”

JSH-Online maintains a Facebook page, which every day shares content (including links to articles and inspiring quotations) with other Facebook users. If you re-share one of these posts on your own Facebook page, it might serve as a spark of inspiration for one of your Facebook friends. Or if you have a Facebook friend who is looking for healing, you might search
JSH-Online for a testimony of healing of the same condition or circumstance, and then you can share it with your friend directly from JSH-Online—either publicly on your Facebook page for all to see, or in a private message.
