In his healing work, Jesus transformed and restored thought and body through his understanding of the Christ, the spiritual message of God’s love for man. He declared, “The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness” (Luke 11:34).
Today, and always, the same Christ-power is present to heal us. Through Christian Science treatment, the power of the Christ is brought to bear on thought and body, and they are liberated to express Soul’s joy, health, and activity. Our true being as God’s creation is revealed to be perfect and spiritual.
This “single,” monotheistic eye, which sees our true spirituality, is pure thought derived from Soul, divine Mind. It dispels the darkness of material sense, and spiritual sense reveals the light—the oneness of divine Mind and our inseparability from its goodness. The result is the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise of “the whole body” full of immortal light, of health and harmony.
