Several years ago, my father passed on. He’d been a role model for me and an active part of my life. I missed him terribly.
While I was reading the Christian Science Bible Lesson shortly after my dad’s passing, this quote grabbed my attention: “ ‘This is life eternal,’ says Jesus,—is, not shall be; and then he defines everlasting life as a present knowledge of his Father and of himself,—the knowledge of Love, Truth, and Life. ‘This is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent’ ” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 410).
At that moment, I knew I needed to reach out to God and better know Him as my divine Father. I realized that this is my most important relationship, and that I needed to feel closer to Him. I saw that it was my mandate to grow in my spiritual understanding of God as Life, Truth, and Love.
