Dear Friend,
A warm welcome to The Christian Science Journal! Whether this is your first visit or you’ve stopped counting the times you’ve entered into these pages, we’re so grateful to share this compilation from spiritually scientific thinkers, healers, and those healed around the world.
This “Welcome” marks the beginning of some new elements and modifications to the Journal—the latest in hundreds of design changes across 140 years of publishing. What hasn’t changed, and won’t, is the objective of the Journal given by its founder, Mary Baker Eddy: “to put on record the divine Science of Truth” (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 353). This charge calls for our best editorial efforts. It also includes an invitation to you, the reader, and anyone who is recording the healing practicality of this Science in daily life, to contribute your spiritual revelations and experiences to this unique, vital missionary, for the benefit of others.
Going forward, though we won’t use this opening page to point to particular content you might read—because we truly feel the light of the Comforter can be found on every page—we will alert you from time to time to a thread of inspiration or a single spiritual insight that has guided the composing of an issue. We will also take advantage of the special opportunities available on our website (JSH-Online.com) to share audio and other content that can’t be expressed in print or print alone.
Thank you for being a reader of the Journal—and we hope, too, a sharer, subscriber, and practicer of the divine, demonstrable Truth that you will find in every issue. We welcome your regular participation, too, including your ideas for improving the Journal. Just send your suggestions via our online “Contact Us” form at jsh.christianscience.com/contact-us.
Gratefully,
Ethel A. Baker, Editor
