Recently I experienced the longest trip of my life, and it reinforced my understanding of and trust in God. I was traveling with a comrade to another part of the country, to support a mutual friend at a family funeral. The trip included crossing a 10.5-mile lagoon in a pirogue, or water bus.
When we arrived in town to catch the water bus, we found that the last one had left 14 hours before, and there was no way to know when the next might arrive.
We had prepared for this trip by pondering Psalms 121:1–6, and faced with this difficulty, we held with sincere conviction to the fact of God’s care for us, in order to understand that we are one with Him. Spirit, not matter and limitation, is what’s truly represented in God’s children.
