Recently I heard a radio announcer say: "Everyone prepare yourself. It's flu season again!" Then he went on to say that even though flu shots are often recommended, they are sometimes ineffective or have negative side effects. Such comments can leave people feeling vulnerable, as though there's not much they can do to protect themselves from contagion. Yet Christ Jesus instructed his followers to "heal the sick."
It's healthy to question assumptions about disease.
Mary Baker Eddy was confident that contagious disease could be healed by following Jesus' teaching and example. She reasoned, and proved, that a clear understanding of God's laws of health and well-being could not only heal but could also prevent disease.
