ANNOUNCEMENT The appointment of Ralph E. Wagers, C.

From the Treasurer of The Mother Church The Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy makes the following provision for Per Capita Tax ( Art VIII, Sect 13 ): "Every member of The Mother Church shall pay annually a per capita tax of not less than one dollar, which shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer. " Payments may be sent during the year at any time between January 1 and December 31.

NOTICE In this issue of The Christian Science Journal , in the listing of the cards of the Christian Science nurses, beginning on page 104, new symbols are shown, a different allocation has been given a symbol previously used, and one symbol has been changed. These symbols and their designations have been adopted to give clearer information regarding the training and nursing background of the listed Christian Science nurses.

In December, 1959, copies of a new pamphlet entitled "Guidance for Readers" were sent to the executive boards of all branch churches and societies with the recommendation that they be distributed to Readers only and one copy kept for the use of the executive board. Outgoing Readers should give their copies of this pamphlet to their successors.

FROM THE DIRECTORS Meetings in the Interest of Branch Church Activities In planning an occasional meeting in the interest of one or more of the activities of the church it has been found that the progress of Christian Science in the local field and the incentive of the members are increased if the members themselves have an active part in the program. At times a branch church may wish to invite an experienced Christian Scientist from a neighboring church to address its members.
