From The Treasurer Of The Mother Church PER CAPITA TAX , as provided in the Church Manual, Article VIII, Section 13 , is due annually from "every member of The Mother Church," and "shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer. " Statements are mailed annually to all members.

Christian Science treatment from authorized Christian Science Workers is available, without charge, to veterans in government hospitals who are interested in Christian Science. Relatives and friends may send in the name of a veteran in a hospital to Manager, Camp Welfare Activities, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts, and this information will be promptly sent on to the Worker calling at the specified hospital.

The Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy, publishers of her books, announce the issuance of an album of three 12-inch records for the phonograph, containing brief readings from Mrs. Eddy's books and four of her poems sung as solos.

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel , August 17, 1946] FROM THE DIRECTORS An Item of Interest published in the Christian Science Sentinel of April 6, 1946, called attention to the fact that branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, which had been holding meetings preceding or following the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, or on Sunday, because of wartime restrictions, should now discontinue them whenever possible. It was not intended to interfere with an occasional meeting of a committee or board of trustees, if there were a particular need which made such a meeting necessary.

In the translation of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy, no satisfactory equivalents have been found in some languages for certain important and frequently recurring words. To avoid circumlocution and also to obviate misunderstanding or confusion for the reader, the original English words are to be used hereafter in such instances, with appropriate explanation of their meaning in prefaces, in footnotes, or in both.
