THE BLESSING OF CHURCH MEMBERSHIP The privilege of applying for membership in The Mother Church is available to all those who believe in the doctrines of Christian Science as presented in its platform and teaching found in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Twice each year applicants are admitted to membership by The Christian Science Board of Directors.

From the Treasurer of The Mother Church Per Capital Tax , as provided in the Church Manual, Article VIII, Section 13 , is due annually from "every member of The Mother Church," and "shall be forwarded each year to the Church Treasurer. " Statements are mailed annually to all members.

Visitors are welcome.

[As published in the Christian Science Sentinel, April 6, 1946] ITEM OF INTEREST Branch Churches and Wartime Measures During the war years some branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, and Christian Science Societies, particularly those located in coastal areas, found it difficult because of the blackouts and restrictions on transportation to hold their business and committee meetings at the usual time. The gasoline rationing limited for many the number of trips which could be made weekly.
