Beginning May 1, 1943, per capita tax statements will be mailed each year to all members of The Mother Church, as a reminder of the provisions of Article VIII, Section 13, of the Church Manual covering the payment of a per capita tax "of not less than one dollar" annually. The present custom of issuing receipts will be discontinued after January 1, 1943.
The Mother Church Wartime Fund is being drawn upon more and more heavily as the Christian Science Camp Welfare Activities increase with the development of the war effort. The Wartime Fund is used to make available the services of Christian Science Wartime Ministers and other similar civilian workers, to promote the spiritual welfare of Christian Scientists and others serving in the forces of the United States and its allies.

According to a new joint ruling of the United States and Canadian censorship offices, newspapers, newspaper clippings, or any other printed matter cannot be sent from the United States and Canada to a neutral European country after September 1, 1942, unless they are sent directly from the firm which publishes them. This restrictive measure is deemed necessary to national defense, since it is believed that such clippings could be used for the transmission of code messages from the United States or Canada to spy centers in neutral European countries.
