MINISTERING ANGELS

Mrs. Eddy defines "angels" in Science and Health as, "God's thoughts passing to man; spiritual intuitions, pure and perfect; the inspiration of goodness, purity, and immortality, counteracting all evil, sensuality, and mortality" ( p.

PRACTICING CHRISTIAN SCIENCE

Practice is the application or use of knowledge. To illustrate: one who gains a knowledge of the basic rules of mathematics and uses this knowledge correctly solves his mathematical problems.

"LET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED"

We all love the message with which Christ Jesus comforted his disciples when he said ( John 14:27 ), "Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. " In the Bible, as in present-day literature, the word "heart" is frequently used to signify one's innermost thoughts or feelings, one's mental attitude.

MIND AND MATTER

People unacquainted with Christian Science may ask how it is possible for material conditions to be changed by spiritual thinking and how a body, generally thought to be material, can be healed by spiritual means. Indeed the use of the word "miracle," implying an occurrence contrary to natural law or the usual order of events, for spiritual healing implies widespread disbelief in the possibility of control by thought over what most people believe to be material.

TIME OF NEED

How grateful we are when we hear people testify that they were helped when they turned to God in time of need! But why wait for some specific need? Are we not always in need? If the power of God is adequate to the solution of specific needs, why not recognize this power as the power which animates our every thought and deed in everyday experience? The recognition of God as the only power will lift our experience out of the depths of human suffering into the health and joy of existence as the expression of divine Life. And this is the expression of divine Life, heaven on earth.

AGE CANNOT CAUSE IMPAIRMENT

To mortal sense human existence consists of birth, growth, maturity, decline, and death. When we accept Christian Science and the wonderful truths of God and man, which it teaches, we begin to grasp the marvelous facts of true existence, of God as Life eternal and of man as the immortal expression of that Life.

GOING TO CHURCH

Going to church is an enriching activity. By attending regularly both the Sunday services and the Wednesday testimony meetings members of Churches of Christ, Scientist, have the privilege of taking part in this activity and are blessed immeasurably.

"PREPARE YE THE WAY"

What goal, what line of progress is nearest our hearts today? And how are we preparing ourselves to achieve it? As he presses toward some chosen destination every Christian Scientist needs to ask himself these questions. True progress, as revealed by Christian Science, is the yielding of the human to the divine.

HARVEST TIME IS ALWAYS HERE

At harvest time the farmer gathers the fruits of the growing season. Sometimes the harvest is enriching and satisfying; and sometimes it is slight and disappointing.

THE HEALING ACTIVITY OF TRUE ENTHUSIASM
