Christian Scientists are aware of the necessity for unfaltering, enlightened faith in God, as an aid to establishing a healing through the operation of God's law. Experience has proved that in many instances, after consecrated work in Christian Science has been done, it may be necessary for patient and practitioner steadfastly to affirm the completeness and permanence of the healing, to the exclusion of error's suggestions to the contrary.
To mankind in general, good has seemed far from being a unity— a unity of the all-embracing and ever-adequate character that it is shown in Christian Science to be. For example, life has been regarded as good, but as a different thing and separable from much else that is equally desirable, such as intelligence, power, and love; and these, in turn, have been considered to be separable one from another.

It asserts that one is born a material babe, that his life and growth depend on material food, and that in order to maintain this sense of life he must receive an income in money, or its equivalent, to take proper care of his personal needs.
Christian Scientists when discussing the affairs of our movement, oftentimes make or agree with the statement that its growth depends on the healing of physical ills, sorrow, and sin. They may not, however, pause to think how they can further that work by individual progress in practical demonstration of the teachings of Christian Science.
Persistently throughout the ages, men have sought for a remedy for human discord, a method by which bodily strength and health may be gained and retained, and whereby longevity may be increased. Elaborate systems of medicine and hygiene have been formulated with this purpose as their sole objective.
Mary Baker Eddy , the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, writes in her book "Unity of Good" ( p. 42 ), "Man, in Science, is as perfect and immortal now, as when 'the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.
