Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

SERVING JOYOUSLY IN THE SUNDAY SCHOOL

CHRIST JESUS said, "Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. " The entrance to this divinely mental kingdom of right thinking and right doing has been found by both pupils and teachers through faithful attendance and loyal service in the Christian Science Sunday School.

PATRIOTISM

TIMES of international tension naturally arouse in the human mind thoughts concerning the security and future welfare of one's country, the national state which claims one's duty and affection. A Christian Scientist knows that there is no human relationship about which this Science has not something helpful to teach him; and this is certainly the case with regard to patriotism.

A GOOD DEMONSTRATION

OCCASIONALLY one hears the phrase "a good demonstration" used in order to describe an enrichment of some sort which has taken place in the life of a student of Christian Science. Sometimes the words seem to imply that some material accretion is a demonstration; that greater luxury, expressed in more wealth and ease, may be the necessary fruitage of our understanding of Christian Science.

SINLESS MAN

ONE of the basic teachings of Christian Science is that man, in his real individuality, is absolutely sinless. Being sinless, he is immortal; for sin alone is self-destructive.

THE "THIRD DEGREE: UNDERSTANDING"

IT is conceded that Christ Jesus performed his wonderful works and uttered his immortal words because of his spirituality. It is also conceded that his contemporaries did not fully understand either his words or his works, because of their lack of spirituality.

"WHERE HAVE YE LAID HIM?"

AT the edge of the little town of Bethany in old Judea there once gathered a group of people mourning the passing of their friend Lazarus, who had died, so it seemed, because Jesus had come too late to heal him of his illness. When his two sisters learned that the Master was coming, they hastened in turn to him with this lament:: "Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

THE "SECOND COMING"

A PROBLEM which has commanded the closest examination of theologians and all students of the Bible from the first century to the present time, concerns the "second coming," as it is commonly termed. The belief usually held is that this coming pertains to the return of Christ Jesus to earth.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE—WHAT IS IT?

Christian Science is founded on the teachings of the Bible. "Science," according to Webster's dictionary, "is systematized knowledge considered in reference to the discovery or understanding of truth.

"I DWELL AMONG MINE OWN PEOPLE"

One of the helpful stories in the Old Testament is that of the Shunammite. The picturesque and forceful language of the Scriptures leads us through a series of incidents to the grand climax, where the cherished only child is restored to the arms of the faithful and courageous mother.

UNDERSTANDING GOD IS AWARENESS OF GOOD

Healing the sick and sinful, overcoming death for others, and finally for himself, Jesus demonstrated the truth of his words, "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. " The knowledge which is "life eternal" must of necessity eliminate from human experience death's harbingers, sin, sickness, hate, age, and want.
