To borrow the form of Pilate's well-known question about truth and ask, "What is peace?" would probably elicit a reply indicating that peace is regarded as the absence of war. Yet that is no more pertinent than it would be to say that light is the absence of darkness, or good the absence of evil.

We have in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and the other writings of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, a complete, understandable, and demonstrable statement of the omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience of God.

Wherever the English language is spoken, the word "now," as indicating the actual moment, or present time, is in constant use. In a larger, spiritual significance, however, the word has not been duly considered by mankind in general.

Why do Christian Scientists organize churches and engage in varied church activities? What is the purpose of The Mother Church and its branches? Is not that purpose to separate men gently and effectively from the world, and to lead them into unity with God?
