Exploring in depth what Christian Science is and how it heals.

ALL IS WELL

On the seething ocean of human experience mortals must find the way to safety and security. There is need for a scientific way—a way of knowing and proving, by means of which men may steer their life course between the Scylla and Charybdis of false beliefs and human concepts, opinions, theories, material conditions, and mental evils—the world, the flesh, and the devil.

FAITH

Reverently , in the opening words of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy speaks of faith. At the beginning of the chapter she quotes the words of Christ Jesus, "For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

DIVINE DOMINION

The problem of achieving power and dominion confronts every phase of human existence now as it has done in the past. In an exaggerated and perverted sense, it becomes a craving for dominating others.

GOD'S WILL IS GOOD WILL

" Fear not," were the first angelic words to the startled shepherds, abiding in the Bethlehem fields, when the heavenly messenger heralded the coming of the Saviour. "And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

ON COMING TO ONESELF

Of the many parables used by Christ Jesus to drive home some fundamental teaching, few, if any, have stronger appeal or are of greater value than the story of the prodigal son. Here in Oriental imagery is depicted the experience of a mortal who, lured by the demands of the flesh and the phantasy of material pleasure, turned from his father's house, with its peace and plenty, to indulgence of the physical senses.

THE MONITOR AND THE "DAILY PRAYER"

EACH day the earnest Christian Scientist prays," 'Thy kingdom come;' let the reign of divine Truth, Life, and Love be established in me, and rule out of me all sin; and may Thy Word enrich the affections of all mankind, and govern them!" The beloved revelator of Christian Science, Mary Baker Eddy, made this "Daily Prayer" the duty of each member of her church ( Church Manual, Art. VIII, Sect.

"I WILL ARISE"

IT is interesting to note how often, according to the Bible records of healing, the one in need was bidden to arise, or to rise up. It is related of the prophet Elijah that an angel, a thought or messenger from God, touched him when he was tempted by discouragement and depression in the wilderness, and bade him, "Arise and eat.

"UNWINDING ONE'S SNARLS"

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE reveals the changeless, unerring nature of the divine Principle, Love, and sets us to work to learn how to bring our thinking into line with its laws and rules, for only in this way can we demonstrate the harmony, peace, and love which inevitably follow such obedience. This entails alertness, consecration, and persistence in correcting whatever is shown to be wrong, unloving, or inharmonious in our thinking.

THE HEALING WORD

WHEN Jesus met and overcame the three temptations spoken of in the fourth chapter of Matthew, he established the basis for healing all the ills of mortal belief. He met the first temptation with the Scriptural declaration, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

BUILDING ON THE ROCK OR SAND?

" THE supremacy of Spirit was the foundation on which Jesus built" ( Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, p. 138 ).
