WHILE much has been written about the background of the Bible, one aspect of it, which forms the subject of the present article, is all too frequently forgotten. UNDER the marginal heading "Real and unreal identity," on page 70 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy writes, "The divine Mind maintains all identities, from a blade of grass to a star, as distinct and eternal. " Real identity and spiritual law relate exclusively to the realm of God's spiritual creation, wherein everything is good.
THE question is sometimes asked, "Is Christianity fulfilling its purpose?" Many centuries have passed since the followers of Christ Jesus were designated as Christians in Antioch. It is noteworthy that the early Christians demonstrated the truth of their religion by healing sickness and disease of every nature, in obedience to the admonition of its great Founder.
