From every corner of the world today humanity is anxiously crying out for a true form of government which will bring lasting peace, prosperity, and stability to the nations of the earth.
In the ninth chapter of Isaiah we find the only possible solution to this most important of world problems. There, in words emphatically reassuring and wondrously comforting, we read: "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder. ... Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end."
These prophetic words did more than herald the coming of the personal Jesus. Christian Science reveals that they spoke then, and still speak, with definite assurance of the advent of the impersonal Christ, the spiritual idea of Love, in each individual consciousness. They foretell with positive certainty the unbroken peace, dominion, and harmony awaiting each one who understands and exemplifies the Christ in thought and daily life.
