Testimonies of Healing
With gratitude I send in this testimony to the many blessings received since becoming interested in Christian Science. My child came into this world with a good sized birthmark over the right eye, which made me very unhappy.
For a large portion of my younger days I was a great sufferer from nervousness which took a very acute form and caused me much misery. I was in constant fear of people and things, and naturally my physical health was anything but good.
It is nearly seven years since Christian Science was brought to us by a very dear woman who had been in Christian Science for some time. I had been sick practically all my life and was almost constantly under a doctor's care, my greatest difficulty being stomach trouble and extreme nervousness.
I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. Prior to 1905 I was an active member of a denominational church.
My cup surely is running over with blessings, spiritual blessings, therefore I feel it my duty to give out some of my healing experiences, resulting from the study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. These words from the Bible have never failed me: "And I say unto you; Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
About fourteen years ago I became interested in Christian Science. I have been healed of the liquor habit, the use of profane language and many other habits that usually go with the liquor habit.
I am so thankful to God and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the many blessings which I have received through Christian Science.
I feel impelled to give my testimony of healing. Nine months ago I became the mother of a big, healthy baby boy.
I wish to say that the foregoing testimony of my daughter is correct and through her healing I was led to take up the study of Christian Science. I have been healed of constipation, bleeding piles, and aching feet.
While serving with the military forces in German East Africa I contracted malarial fever, which was later diagnosed by the army physicians as cerebral malaria. I passed through three military hospitals and was eventually sent back to my home in South Africa.
