Testimonies of Healing

I wish to testify to the power of Truth to overcome all error. When all material aid had failed and it seemed I had but a few short months to live, Christian Science was resorted to, with the result that not only the disease in question but many others were overcome.

During the summer of 1919 I was in bed for four weeks, suffering severely from inflammation of the bladder and adjacent parts. I had heard of Christian Science before my illness, but did not have enough faith in its healing efficacy, and thus, in order to quiet the severe pain, was forced to resort to opium.

It is four and a half years since, not without some trembling. I threw away medicine and destroyed prescriptions, one of the latter being a lotion for daily use which had been used with the briefest possible intermissions for nearly twenty years.

I wish to tell of some of the many blessings I have received since coming into Christian Science. When Science was lovingly brought to my attention I was apparently a mental and physical wreck.

It is with a heart full of love and gratitude to God and to our beloved Leader that I send the following testimony. One day during the month of August, 1917, while I was curling my hair a hot iron slipped from my hand, striking the ball of my right eye, causing severe pains.

Christian Science was presented to me at a time when I was suffering from melancholia and an extreme case of anæmia. I was instantaneously healed of a desire to die, by the reading of Science and Health, where Mrs.

I wish to express through the columns of the Sentinel or Journal my gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is doing for me and for the whole world. In the five years that I have been interested it has met every need.

With deep thankfulness to God I wish to give a brief testimony of a healing received through Christian Science. My eyes began to trouble me several years ago and the pain became more severe as time went on.

As the testimonies have always meant so much to me, I should like to add mine, hoping that it may help some one. At the time of our first healing, over twelve years ago we knew absolutely nothing about Christian Science.

Words fail to express my heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science. Two years ago I was condemned by four London specialists and two doctors to a life of almost chronic invalidism.
