Testimonies of Healing

Since the first reading of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, over six years ago, the writer has been blessed with manifold "fruits of the Spirit. " These blessings have been manifested in the healing of mental, moral, and physical discords, such as periodical colds, sore throat, backaches, and other erroneous conditions.

I am very grateful for what Christian Science has done for me. It has cured me of a very violent temper, criticism, self-centeredness, and all the errors of a very spoiled child.

Our nine months old child was suffering from a troublesome and painful disease of the skin. It first appeared on the face and rapidly spread over the little body.

After having heard a great deal about Christian Science and having repeatedly felt drawn to the teaching through its clarity and simplicity, I began the study of the Lesson-Sermons in 1914, not for bodily healing, but to be freed from a dissatisfied state of mind—to fulfill a yearning for the truth. The result was amazingly rapid.

My heart overflows with gratitude for all the blessings and benefits received through Christian Science. I also wish to express gratitude for the marvelous healing of long-standing inflammation of the intestines.

I feel I must tell the whole world what Christian Science has done for me, hoping it may help some one else who is in need. I have been healed, regenerated, made all over anew, in body and mind.

It seems almost impossible to tell what The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel have done for me in the way of unfoldment and spiritual growth since I began the study of Christian Science some four years ago, and especially during the past few months. The understanding of the privilege as well as the responsibility of subscribing to these periodicals established by Mrs.

The traveler in a mountainous country pauses occasionally to look back at the peaks already surmounted. Then, encouraged by the view of what has already been accomplished, he is able to press onward with renewed energy.

Although but a young student of Christian Science, knowing of its healing and beneficent powers for but two years, I have experienced many healings. When first coming into Christian Science I was healed of valvular heart disease for which two physicians claimed there was no cure.

Having been educated in Germany, whose educational system had been planned for the strengthening of autocracy, and suffering from the effects of this false education, I, like the prodigal son, had taken my "portion of goods" and had come to the United States, and there wasted my substance in riotous living; to find myself in sore want, unable to understand the fundamentals of the country, gradually sinking deeper and deeper. I had been trained to think autocracy and consequently could not understand democracy and its institutions.
