Testimonies of Healing
I was first attracted to Christian Science by seeing what it was doing for my sister-in-law, and it is with a sense of gratitude to God that I testify to our little son's almost instantaneous healing. He was cross and fussy on a Friday and appeared very feverish.
" Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. " Surely those who are earnest students of Christian Science have lifted up their heads and into their lives is coming "the King of glory.
Gratitude for benefits received prompts me to write this testimony. A little over a year ago I became deeply interested in the study of Christian Science.
The healings I have experienced since taking up the study of Christian Science more than eleven years ago are so many and varied that it would take too much space to enumerate them. Fears have been overcome, protection has been realized at the time of accidents, and while the healing of a severe stomach trouble for which I sought Christian Science was long delayed, it came just as soon as I was willing to let God's will be done.
Nothing short of a song of joy can begin to express my thankfulness for the benefits received through the study of Christian Science. I feel that they are inestimable.
About ten years ago I had an intimate friend in New York who had recently been confirmed in one of the city's so-called fashionable churches. Several years earlier, in another city, I was confirmed in a church of the same denomination.
I want to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. We were always churchgoing people, and I united with a church at the age of sixteen, was a Sunday school teacher, and interested in all church work; but I became dissatisfied with my religion.
Six years ago I seemed to be in a hopeless state of physical illness and mental distress. For twelve years I had not been able to do things like other people, as an internal trouble caused great pain after walking, standing, or any exertion.
My desire is to tell a few of the many blessings that I have received through the reading and study of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
As I have had so much help from the testimonies in both the Sentinel and the Journal, I want to give mine, hoping it may help some one to realize God's allness. I have been interested in Christian Science for about six years, and during that time have had many proofs of God's loving care.
