Testimonies of Healing
In loving gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me I send my testimony with a desire that it may help others. On January 30, 1916, I met with an accident, a fall which resulted in two ribs being broken just beneath the heart, a bad sprain in my side, and a severe nervous shock.
Just ten years ago I was examined by three physicians, one of whom was at that time head of the Antituberculosis Society of the state of Michigan. I was pronounced tubercular by all of these physicians and was told that it would be necessary for me to live in southern California.
I would like to add my gratitude for my husband's healing in Christian Science, and to express, if only faintly, my thankfulness for what this blessed truth has done for us. One of the greatest healings has been that of sorrow for the passing on of our little son, for we were instantly lifted into the clear realization that Life is of necessity without interruption, eternally manifested.
Christian science has brought so many blessings and so much happiness into my life that words can never express my deep gratitude for it. After being an invalid for three years, I left my home in Japan to consult physicians in England.
I am truly grateful for the privilege of giving to the world the account of my healing, which took place in the latter part of 1910. It was not accomplished at once, but through faithful work, combined with perseverance and trust, I can now say I am well.
It is now nearly fourteen years since I first began to study Christian Science. At that time I was not at all strong, and was very unhappy, always seeking for something which I never seemed to find.
About eight years ago I came into Christian Science as a last resort. I had been a sick woman for a good many years and had tried all available remedies, at last undergoing an operation which did not bring the expected results.
I would like to add my testimony to the many appearing in the Journal and Sentinel , and trust that it may help some one who is struggling for more light. A few years ago I lost consciousness while sitting at my desk.
BEFORE I had any knowledge of Christian Science I would in time of trouble turn naturally to God in prayer and felt many prayers were answered, but the fearless prayer of affirmation has been revealed to me through Christian Science. There came a time when I was threatened, the doctors told me, with paralysis.
When I took up Christian Science I had been in poor health for several years. The doctors told me that my stomach, liver, kidneys, and bronchial tubes were affected.
