Testimonies of Healing

I must tell of the joy, happiness, and peace into which I have come through the study of the Bible in the light of Mrs. Eddy's teaching.

Some years ago a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy was loaned to me.

As a student of Christian Science I feel very grateful for all the blessings that have come to me through the application, as far as I understand it, of the Principle taught in our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.

For the understanding of Christian Science which I have gained I am indeed grateful. As a family, we lived for many years in bondage to sickness and fear; rarely a week passed without our calling a physician, and often he was at our house several times a day.

I feel it is my duty to let others know what Christian Science has done for me, as I have been healed of a severe attack of eczema, which material remedies failed to cure. For about four months I used different kinds of ointment, and at the end of that time was worse than when I started.

Words cannot express my gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me. Over a year ago I had a severe stomach trouble, and could not eat even the plainest food without great suffering.

With the hope of helping some fellow man to an understanding of the truth that heals and purifies, I wish to relate what Christian Science has done and is doing for me. The truism, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," was proven in my case, for it seemed I had to hit bottom before I could rise.

It is now eight years since I joined the Christian Science church, and I desire to state that the study of the Bible, together with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and other of her works, also the reading of the Christian Science periodicals, has led me to see the light, and to realize that man is the idea of God. During these years I have had no need of material remedies, but have enjoyed good health, though formerly I was of delicate constitution and accustomed to use medicine regularly.

The benefits I have derived from the testimonies printed in the Christian Science periodicals, and from one in particular, which related the healing of a condition similar to mine, impel me to give my experience, knowing that in turn it will help some one else. When I was four years old my right ear became diseased.

As one who has received untold blessings through the teachings of Christian Science, I desire to express my gratitude for this beautiful truth. In 1906 I was healed through Christian Science of catarrh that had reached a so-called dangerous stage, together with many lesser ailments.
